New Supervisor Programme to develop our next generation of people managers in the Water Division
Posted: 7th March 2024
It is our mission to develop our supervisors of the future through our brand-new Supervisory Programme dedicated to frontline managers.
We want to enhance the skills of our people and to navigate them on their journey to being exceptional people managers; the Supervisory Programme enables us to do just that and is one of the first stepping stones we are creating.
All you need to know about the Supervisory Programme
- It is designed to be completed over 12-18 months
- It consists of seven modules involving a mixture of virtual and face to face sessions with a trainer from HSP Training & Consultancy Ltd, with whom the Programme has been developed in partnership
- It has been developed to be transferrable across the utilities industry, including bespoke content specifically for our supervisors and equivalent, to make their experience of the Programme a personalised one
- The Programme is Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) accredited, and is the equivalent to a level 3 qualification, which is recognised by the utilities industry.
We are delighted that the first cohort in our Thames Water contract is halfway through the Programme already and last week our second cohort, from Welsh Water, started the Programme. Over the coming months we will be rolling this out further across the Water Division.
David Tann, Morrison Water Services Area Director for Thames Water Metering, said: “I am so pleased to see this Supervisor Programme being rolled out across the Division with Thames Water Metering being involved in the first cohort. It has been developed in collaboration with other organisations in the utilities industry, the scheme recognises the skills and underpinning knowledge required to operate as a supervisor in a range of settings. I’m looking forward to hearing what the first cohort of supervisors think of the new Programme and how they will apply their learning into their role.”
